Tim Hortons restaurants across Richmond will launch limited-edition donuts this coming weekend for a good cause.

The new donut, named Choose to Include, is a chocolate cake ring with white fondant, coloured sprinkles and whipped topping.

Tim’s across Canada have partnered with Special Olympics Canada again this year to support a national initiative called Choose To Include.

The new design was inspired by the themes of diversity and inclusion that are central to the Special Olympics mission.

“Choose to Include donuts means that it doesn’t matter who you are. Everyone could accept it,” said Richmond athlete Vincent Li, who helped launch the donut on Tuesday in Richmond.

All funds raised through selling special donuts will go towards the Special Olympics’ daily community sports programs, benefiting Canadians living with an intellectual disability.

Starting from Jan. 28 to 30, people can find limited-edition donuts at their local Tim Hortons for $1.69.
