An 11-year-old mega mansion on Richmond farmland is for sale once again, but with a significant price cut since it was last listed two years ago.
The mansion property at 8731 Finn Rd. is on the market for $14.9 million, which is around $3.9 million lower than its 2023 listing of $18.8 million.
The owner is currently asking for more than double its BC assessment value of $7.1 million.
The last time the home, located in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), was sold was in August 2022, when it went for $13.5 million.
Located in the Gilmore community, the huge house is built on a 15-acre park-like lot with seven ensuite bedrooms and a separate entry with a kitchen and two additional bedrooms.
The 14,432-square-foot home includes an indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, gym, theatre and a wine cellar.
Outdoors, there is a private landscaped garden with a waterfall, a private tennis court and six garages, according to the listing.
In 2024, municipal property taxes for the mega mansion were $31,000.
House size limits
Richmond first set a limit in 2017 of 10,700 square feet for homes in the ALR after residents expressed concerns about speculation and valuable farmland being kept out of reach of new farmers.
Richmond city council voted in 2018 to further limit the size of ALR homes to 4,300 square feet — more than 1,000 square feet lower than newly brought in provincial restrictions.
