Richmond Mounties are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a suspected car thief, who pulled a knife on the owner who caught him in the act.
According to the RCMP, they are still actively searching for the suspect, after they responded to the incident in the area of Bridgeport Road and Sea Island Way at around 11 a.m.
Police say the registered car owner contacted them after finding an unknown male inside his vehicle.
The owner told officers he confronted the man before being threatened with a knife. The suspect then fled the area, according to police.
“Richmond RCMP front-line officers flooded the area and conducted an extensive search…However, the suspect was not located,” said police in a media release.
The suspect is described as:
- a Caucasian man
- approximately 30 years of age
- wearing a baseball cap, camo vest and red gloves.
