Environment Canada is warning of “significant snow” on Tuesday for all of Metro Vancouver including Richmond.

Five to 20 centimetres of wet snow is expected to fall, starting on Tuesday morning and continuing until Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

Snowfall amounts are expected to vary significantly across the region, according to Environment Canada.

While the air will be cool, it won't be Arctic, so the snowfall amount will depend on proximity to water, elevation and the intensity of the precipitation.

With milder air on Wednesday, it should all turn to rain again.

Environment Canada is encouraging people to report severe weather by email to [email protected] or to tweet reports using the hashtag #BCStorm.
