Three scheduled power outages in Richmond this week

Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work from June 14 to 21.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for the upcoming week:

June 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Rescheduled from May 27)

Pole replacement work will affect 15 customers at:

  • 11010 to 11160 King Rd.

June 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect less than five customers at:

  • 7911 and 7931 Sunnymede Cresc.

June 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Rescheduled from June 3)

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 11 customers at:

  • 4740 - 4851 Princeton Ave.
