The Keg Steakhouse + Bar in Richmond has been named one of Canada’s best employers by Forbes Magazine.

In partnership with the market research firm Statista, Forbes released its annual list of Canada’s Best Employers 2021. The Keg Restaurant + Bar ranked 66 out of 300 employers rated by Forbes.

“As a result of the pandemic, Canada’s unemployment rate is up significantly, from 5.6% last year to roughly 8.6% today. Still, many companies have persevered, especially those offering services much needed in these challenging times,” Forbes Magazine wrote.

The massive list was compiled after surveying more than 8,000 Canadians working for businesses with more than 500 employees. The ranking was conducted based on how willing participants were to recommend their own employers to friends and families, as well as employees nominating companies other than their own.

In addition, all surveys were anonymous, which allowed participants to openly share their opinions, said Forbes.

Toronto-based Cisco Systems took the top spot, followed by the federal government’s Environment and Climate Change Canada department. The Montreal-based video game company Ubisoft ranked third.
