Thousands of drivers were pulled over on New Year’s Eve in Richmond – and only two were noted for alcohol, according to the RCMP.
During New Year's Eve, Richmond RCMP had a number of extra officers out on duty to ensure public safety.
And, during the revelry, police attended a total of 51 files, but did not encounter any reported collisions or public disturbances.
“Our officers conducted multiple checkstops/road blocks throughout the city with thousands of drivers,” said Richmond RCMP’s Cpl. Dennis Hwang, via email.
“Of that total, only two alcohol related interactions were recorded.”
