Life is already more complicated than it was. But a Richmondite is hoping to make it a bit easier by launching a free virtual event in late September to educate people about essential lifestyle planning.

Megan Chambers, who also operates a law firm in Richmond, will be joined by two other professionals from the finance and mortgage industries on Sept. 29 to host an online forum named “Do I need to know about...? Essential Life Planning for Under 40s.”

“This event was put on by three women who believe in making sure education about finances, legal things, insurances and mortgages could be as accessible (as possible) and easier for people to understand,” said Chambers.

Chambers also noticed that a gap between the general public and essential life planning does exist after finding out some people don’t necessarily know life insurance can be used as an investment or having a will is not just for millionaires or billionaires.

Despite the event being named “for people under 40s,” Chambers said everyone is welcome to join the meeting, which includes an hour-long presentation and an hour-long panel discussion. Attendees can also submit their questions in advance.

The event is free, but a minimum of $5 donation to support the local not-for-profit Richmond Women’s Resource Centre is appreciated.
