Voters were lining up to cast a ballot Saturday in the Richmond byelection for one councillor position.
Earlier in the day, the lineup at McMath wound into the parking lot. COVID-19 restrictions limit the number of people inside the polling station at any one time.
Polling stations are located Saturday at at Burnett Secondary, Cambie Secondary, Cook Elementary, Hamilton Elementary, MacNeill Secondary, McMath Secondary, McNair Secondary, Richmond Secondary School, Steveston-London Secondary and Talmey Elementary.
Polls close Saturday at 8 p.m. and results are expected to start coming in after 8:30 p.m.
There are 10 candidates running to replace Kelly Greene who was elected to the B.C. legislature last fall.
The winning candidate will sit on council for about 17 months until the next general election, scheduled for Oct 15, 2022.
