Parts of Westminster Highway were closed off Tuesday after a fatal accident.

Richmond RCMP has appealed to drivers for dashcam footage, following the fatal accident Tuesday evening that had parts of Westminster Highway sealed off for hours.

Police are asking motorists to check their footage from the area of Westminster Highway – just east of No. 9 Road – at around 5:30 p.m.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Tuesday after a collision between a black 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle and red semi-truck.

The male driving the motorcycle died at the scene, while the driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.

While a number of witnesses remained on scene, Mounties are asking drivers who may have been in the area at that time to review their dashcam for footage.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident, or has information about it, is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-207-4918 and quote file number 2021-28716. Should you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit them online at www.solvecrime.ca.
