A Richmond man was treated for injuries on Sunday, after a brawl in Vancouver’s Yaletown led to a stabbing.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 27, two groups of people met while walking on Mainland Street near Nelson Street, an area heavily populated by restaurants and bars. Men from the two groups began fighting each other, and three men involved were stabbed.

While a 26-year-old Richmond man and a 25-year-old Vancouver man were treated for minor injuries in hospital and have since been released, a 29-year-old Surrey man is recovering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Six men were arrested and have been released without charges. Vancouver police are now looking for witnesses who may have information or dash-cam footage of the incident. They are asked to call the Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
