Richmond Fire-Rescue used the sound of a mother duck’s call to save six ducklings stuck in a drain pipe.

A Richmond resident called for help on Thursday when they discovered the ducklings stuck in the drain, according to a fire-rescue Facebook post.

“Captain Kelly and Firefigher Baker used the mobile phone on the engine to download the sound of a mother duck,” after answering the call to save the ducks.

The ducklings were then lured one at a time out of the drain by the sound of a mother duck and placed into a bucket.

After the six ducklings were safe and accounted for, the crew reunited them with their mother.

No ducklings were injured in the rescue.

It appears that no Richmond resident is too small to save for Richmond Fire-Rescue, who added that they may save a cat in a tree next.
