Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work from May 3 to 10

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for the upcoming week:

May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 14 customers at:

  • 7060 to 7200 Langton Rd.
  • 5891 and 5911 Linscott Rd.

May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Rescheduled from March 12)

Pole replacement will affect less than five customers at:

  • 2011 No. 7 Rd.
  • 15900 River Rd.
  • No 7 Rd N/o Cambie

May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect seven customers at:

  • 4320, 4331, 4340, 4351, 4371 Cornerbrook Cres.
  • 10120, 10180 Freshwater Dr.,

May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A pole replacement will affect less than five customers at:

  • 5000 London Rd.
