(Photos) Finally! Richmond News Cherry blossom contest has a winner

More than 100 submissions were made to the Richmond News for the contest.

A winner has been selected for the Richmond News’ first-ever cherry blossom photo contest.

Aditya Chourasiya’s photo, featuring him helping his daughter touch the cherry blossom petal, was selected among over 100 photo entries.

Chourasiya said the image felt like it represented the arrival of Spring when it was taken at Garry Point Park in late March.

The News’ editorial team shortlisted the photo entries, and the winner was determined through votes from the editorial team members.

As a result, the winner will be given a $50 London Drugs gift card.

Meanwhile, we have other memorable submissions, such as a girl in a pink dress standing in front of the cherry blossom trees and a photo taken from a reader’s personal backyard.

Many submissions were good-quality photos and did a great job in featuring the pink blooming scene of cherry blossoms in our community.

We appreciate everyone’s contributions this year and we look forward to our readers’ photos again next year.
