The 2018 Winter Olympics are just a week away and one coach from the Richmond Olympic Oval is sharing his experiences in Pyeongchang with his social media followers.
Matt Fisher is travelling to South Korea with Canada’s snowboard team and has taken over the Richmond Olympic Oval’s high performance Instagram account, sharing photos and experiences from the 2018 games.
Currently, the head coach is in Hawaii with the snowboard team, taking part in some pre-competition training.
“Why on earth would a winter sport head to Kauai prior to the Winter Olympics,” Fisher’s caption asks. “After spending the last three months in perpetual winter, it is important to reset both the body and mind. Additionally, Kauai significantly reduces the time zone change to PyeongChang from North America.
“Remember, it’s not just what you do on the snow/ice/court/field, it’s also what you do in your daily training environment (DTE) that can put you ahead of the competition.”
