A not-for-profit will launch a free seminar in May to help people explore what careers are most in demand in the post-pandemic era.

Employees from certain sectors will need to figure out how to adapt to a post-pandemic world, according to Queenie Choo, CEO of Success, a Vancouver-based immigrant settle organization which operates an office in Richmond.

To help people adapt to these uncertain times, Success will host a seminar on May 19 for immigrants hoping to “upskill” or “reskill” for another career.

“Upgrading skills could be a great way to become more employable, and now seems to be the perfect time to learn something new,” said Choo.

Participants will learn what job prospects are currently available and how to prepare themselves so they can enroll in some high-demand programs, such as dental assistant, healthcare assistant, early childhood education, IT technicians, greenhouse technicians and more, added Choo.

Ish Kumar, a program coordinator from Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society (PICS) - an organization dedicated to providing employment programs for immigrants - will be the workshop’s featured speaker.

Permanent residents, refugees and in-home caregivers are encouraged to join the session.

This program is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). People who are interested are welcome to fill out the online registration form here: https://bit.ly/3uQzpIt.
