Discovering the metaverse at Aberdeen Centre exhibit

Fancy a look at what virtual reality is like?

Richmond's Aberdeen Centre has a new exhibit for people who are interested in virtual reality (VR) and the Metaverse.

The Metaverse Planet exhibit features three VR machines for families to explore and interact with virtual environments and landscapes, a "mega gachapon machine" for prize draws and an infinity mirror.

Summer is a time for families to spend time together and to also experience new and different technology, said Tiffany Ho, senior vice president and general manager at Aberdeen Centre.

"The Metaverse Planet (exhibit) offers unique and exciting experiences that many families may not have tried before," said Ho.

To visit the exhibit, the public must present a receipt of $15 or more (before tax) at any Aberdeen Centre merchants. People can choose between a play on the VR machines and infinity mirror or receive a golden coin for a free draw from the gachapon machine.

The exhibit will take place in the mall's atrium every day from 12 to 4 p.m. and 4:30 to 5 p.m. until Sept. 24.
