A man has been charged and sentenced to jail for numerous break and enters committed in Richmond.
Darren Clifford Belcourt pleaded guilty to seven charges and was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
Belcourt's offences included a commercial break and enter near Bridgeport and Shell roads on Jan. 9 and another break and enter near Granville Avenue and No. 3 Road on Feb. 9 this year, according to the Richmond RCMP.
During the investigation police noticed a patterrn with six other files.
After the evidence collection process from each separate investigation, police noticed a "serial nature of the break and enters" that resulted in the crime unit to identify the offender, explained Cpl. Ray Basi, NCO in-charge of Richmond RCMP Property Crime Unit.
"In this case, it resulted in a known offender pleading guilty to seven charges which span six seaprate investigations," said Basi.
