Living the life: Day 1 @ YVR

Contest winner jets in for 80 days at the airport

It's not every day you see a Hawaiian shirt quite that pink. But when you do, you know it's Jaeger Mah.

The 29-year-old Live@YVR winner was flown in on a Learjet 45 XR for a private view of his new home for the next 80 days and nights - YVR airport and Sea Island.

Mah was one of 96 applicants for the job and won with more than 4,000 online votes from the public.

For winning, he has to live on Sea Island and produce a video a day of anything and everything to do with the airport.

"I love adventure," Mah said. "And the coolest part about living here at the YVR is there's a thousand cultures that come through here every day."

He gets $50 a day for snacks and meals, a bed at the Fairmont Airport Vancouver and $15,000 to take home in the end.

When asked what his first few stories will be, Mah said he has hundreds planned, but they will all have to do with the people who work and pass through the airport every day.
