Letters: Feeling uneasy over tent at Richmond school

A Richmond News reader fears parts of the city could end up like a tent city

A Richmond News reader fears this is what parts of the city could look like

Dear Editor,

I often walk my dog down No. 1 Road by Westminster Highway. Last week, because of my dog’s curiosity, I noticed that there was a tent set up in the schoolyard, and after one week, it was still there.

Is this normal now? Can we all go and pitch a tent?

My concern is why hasn’t anything been done about it? School starts next week, does it not?

I am sure lots of people have noticed it but it’s still there! Are we now going to have the same issues as other cities in regards to tent cities?

Come on, Mr. Brodie, time to clear it now or I might go camping, too. But I would rather keep walking my dog and feel safe.

Richmond has become a total disaster with the drug attacks, as I witness this three or four times a day at work. Time to clean up Richmond, Mr. Brodie. Give people a safe place to live so we can all be safe.
