Expect delays on the Alex Fraser Bridge this afternoon.
The Ministry of Transportation says lanes on that bridge and the Port Mann Bridge will be closed for winter maintenance during the Tuesday afternoon rush hour.
Rope-access technicians and traffic control were on-hand as cable-collar drops began at both bridges this morning to clear minor accumulations on the stays, according to the ministry. More cable-collar drops may be required.
The ministry says staff continue to monitor bridge and highway conditions, and commuters should be prepared to adjust their plans and expect delays.
