Kudos: YVR raises $10K for lung health at annual Climb the Wall fundraiser

Fire and Rescue employees climbed 48 storeys in full gear.

Employees from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) recently raised $10,000 to end childhood asthma at BC Lung Foundation's annual Climb the Wall event.

This year marks the second year airport employees have participated in the fundraiser, with eight Fire and Rescue employees participating in the firefighters division and four airport authority employees joining the regular climbers for the first time.

Faced with a 48-storey climb, Fire and Rescue employees completed the challenge while wearing full gear including PPE and a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Also recently, nine YVR employees participated in the Sleep Out: Champions Edition to raise awareness about youth homelessness, raising more than $22,000 through donations and corporate matching.

YVR also served as the $50,000 match partner for each participant.
