A young Richmond resident decided to make a contribution to the community - while playing the piano.

Osborn Song, 14, held his first piano solo recital at Tom Lee Music Richmond on No. 3 Road on Jan. 14 and raised $4,031.

The money will be donated to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, a charity providing pediatric palliative care to children with life-threatening illnesses.

Song has studied piano since the age of six and was inspired to give back to the local community by family members who do the same, according to Violet Wang, Song's mother.
