WorkSafeBC is using cannabis legalization to remind people that it’s not acceptable to go to work impaired.

“Impairment in the workplace isn’t a new issue in B.C., but it’s become top of mind as cannabis becomes legal for recreational use,” said Tom Brocklehurst spokesperson for WorkSafeBC.

He said workers need to commit to showing up sober, and employers should be ready to send people home if they’re drunk or high, especially if performing work duties impaired could put people in danger.
