Month community service pop-ups are available at Richmond Public Library's Brighouse branch.

Monthly community service pop-ups at Brighouse Library are here to stay for 2024.

Starting on Thursday, Jan. 11, Richmond residents with lower incomes can head to free drop-in sessions at the library to ask questions and get help with accessing information on important community resources and services.

The monthly sessions, which were launched in Dec. 2022, aim to provide a "safe and welcoming space" where residents can navigate access to health and benefit systems, affordable housing and recreation as well as newcomer services.

Since Dec. 2022, more than 1,000 community members have been connected to services offered by 35 community organizations, according to the City of Richmond.

Drop-in sessions, hosted by the City of Richmond, Richmond Public Library and community organizations, are available every second Thursday of the month and will run from 3 to 5 p.m.

For more information about the sessions and other available resources, visit the City of Richmond's website.
