Childhood is being honoured at White Spot in its fourth annual Pirate Pak Day on Wednesday, Aug. 17, aiming to raise funds for a kid's camp charity.

The popular "Adult Pirate Paks" are returning to the restaurant chain for a one-day event in which $2 from each kids and adult Pirate Pak sale will go to Zajac Ranch.

Richmond's three locations - at No. 3 and Ackroyd roads, Richmond Centre and at YVR - will be participating.

The ranch is a B.C. charity that provides a summer camp experience to children with life-threatening illnesses and chronic disabilities. Zajac Ranch gives children, who may be afflicted with challenges including dialysis and Autism, the opportunity to attend a camp where they can enjoy memorable experiences and make new friends.

"For one day only, adults have the opportunity to be kids again and reminisce about the excitement and magic of childhood dining experiences at White Spot, all for a fantastic cause," said Warren Erhart, president of White Spot.

"Last year, we raised a record $40,822 in one day. This year, we're hoping to donate even more to Zajac Ranch for Children.

The Pirate Paks will transport adults back to their youth, with the ever-present boat that meals are served in, and meal options that include fries, ice cream and a chocolate "gold" coin.

White Spot has raised more than $105.000 for Zajac Ranch since 2008.
