In celebration of Chinese New Year, the Peking opera is coming to Metro Vancouver.
Performing on Feb. 2 at the Hard Rock Casino, Master Yu Kui Zhi is one of China’s most famous Peking opera actors and his performances are known for sharing Chinese culture with the audience.
Li Sheng Su, as well as China National Peking Opera Company, will also perform live on stage.
The Feb. 2 show has two parts. First, the performers will share classic Chinese opera such as The Taking of Tiger Mountain, The Red Lantern and Sister Jiang. Second, they’ll perform highlights Peking opera, which is a form of Chinese opera combining music, vocal performance, mime, dance and acrobatics.
