Update: Car crashes into currency exchange store at Richmond mall

Richmond RCMP, Richmond Fire-Rescue and BC Ambulance were on the scene.

A black Porsche crashed into a currency exchange store at a Richmond mall on Sunday morning.

Photos and videos posted on Facebook showed the SUV with a dented hood after having crashed into ChengFeng Currency Exchange at Yaohan Centre.

Richmond RCMP officers and Richmond Fire-Rescue were called to the scene shortly after 9:30 a.m. to the mall's parking lot.

The only person in the vehicle was an 80-year-old woman who was treated at the scene by paramedics, according to Cpl. Dennis Hwang, spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP.

Neither alcohol nor speed appeared to be factors in the collision, he added.

Brian Twaites, paramedic public information officer, said one ambulance was on scene, but no one was taken to the hospital.

An investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
