B.C. women take wheelchair national title at Richmond Oval

Quebec, the reigning national champion, fell to Team BC on Sunday.

The women's national wheelchair basketball championship was held in Richmond this past weekend.

The B.C. women’s wheelchair basketball team won a national gold this weekend at the Richmond Olympic Oval, beating out the reigning Quebec champions 66-52 in the final.

B.C. hasn’t won the national title since 2014.

Team BC finished the 2022 national tournament with a 3-1 record. Their only defeat was to Quebec on Friday, when they lost 63-37.

In the gold medal game, Kady Dandeneau had the most points – 22 – while teammate Katie Miyazaki had 21 points.
