A section of River Road in east Richmond will be closed for part of the day over the next two months as repair work is done on the dike.
The work is taking place along the 21000 block of River Road, between No. 8 Road and Westminster Highway.
River Road is a popular route for commuters to avoid traffic on Highway 91 when heading to Bridgeport.
Many drivers also use the road to access industrial and commercial areas.
This section of the road will be closed to through traffic on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. until Friday, Oct. 31.
Traffic will be detoured via No. 7 Road and Westminster Highway with local access only during these hours.
