Summer Night Market
The Summer Night Market in Richmond is back for 2012 from now to Sept. 16. There are street snacks from all over Asia and Europe, lots of minifestivals, tons of shopping and plenty of entertainment on the performance stage. It's open Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., Sundays and holidays from 7 to 11 p.m.

The Steveston Museum's Guided Walking Tours
Two walking tours, Murder, Mayhem and Morality in Old Steveston and Sliding Through Steveston, happen Thursdays and Saturdays from now to Sept. 29. Reflections of Richmond

Richmond artist Jeanette Jarville is displaying a selection of new paintings. The show is titled "Reflections of Richmond" and depicts the preservation of historical and natural habitats of Richmond in a contemporary, stylized way. Jarville has a BFA from Emily Carr University. She has shown her work locally, nationally and internationally and is recognized for her bold, colourful and stylized reverse paintings on glass.

Richmond Night Market
With 250 booths offering cool merchandise, 80 vendors serving mouth-watering food and desserts - with a different specially-featured-and-priced vendor each night - a diversity of family-friendly entertainment, and more than a thousand nearby parking stalls, the 2012 market will deliver what no previous market ever has.
This year's market will feature carnival rides and a children's amusement zone, adding thrills and chills to the nightly experience. It's open Fridays and Saturdays, from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Sundays and holidays, from 6 to 11 p.m.

Richmond Museum Main Gallery Exhibits Garden City: Richmond's Agricultural Legacy
This exhibit explores Richmond's agricultural industry, from its early days, when settlers were first attracted to Richmond fertile soils, to the modern and prosperous industry it is today. Though Richmond has grown into a vibrant urban centre, a significant portion of Richmond's land area remains agricultural, and as such, is an important part of the local and regional economy.

Jazz Around the World
Experience Russian jazz for the first time in Canada.
Leonid Ptashka (piano), Evgeni Maistrovski (drums) and Valerie Lipets (bass). Each show introduces the public to the broadest possible spectrum from New Orleans jazz to streams from all over the world. Show starts at 7: 30 p.m. and tickets range from $40 to $50.

We are Visible EVEN after Dark
The Richmond Centre for Disability is presenting a special night of performing arts entertainment in support of Invisible Illness awareness week and the Invisible Illness community at large. Distraction therapy is an important part of pain self-management.
We will be able to show all in attendance how these pursuits either as a spectator, volunteer or participant can do wonders for reducing pain, depression and isolation. You will hear music by aboriginal recording artist Blythe Janet Panic. A one-woman monologue driven play about a woman navigating through chronic illness by actress and physician Yvette Lu. To round out the evening all-star comedians from the "Stand up for Mental Health" program. The show runs from 7 to 9 p.m., and tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
