Open Conversations explores the concept of dialogical aesthetics through the art practice of Toronto based photographers, Carole Condé and Karl Beveridge. For 35 years they have defined their art practice around the facilitation of dialogue among diverse communities and/or networks and who are exploring the concept of dialogue as a form of social engaged art practice.
This exhibition is guest curated by Scott Marsden and is the first solo exhibition in B.C. for Condé and Beveridge. Karl Beveridge will give an Artist Talk on September 15 from 2 to 2: 45 p.m. Refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome to attend.

Steveston Folk Guild at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard presents: Petunia
Show time 7: 30 p.m., 3rd Thursday of each month.

Tickets: $8 at the door. Petunia returns to SFG. Petunia has been swingin', swoonin' and bringin' 'audiences into bars, churches, theatres, folk festivals and street corners for more than 10 years. His last CD release entitled "Petunia & the Loons", will rock your socks. Always recording and productive, Petunia also has another six CD's under his belt.
Fresh from a recent tour in Europe, Petunia actively plays 150 shows per year across Canada, and he and his band The Vipers began touring the USA last spring.
Petunia & the Vipers play a wide variety of musical styles that meld into 'their own thing', although the band draw heavy influence from the rockabilly and western swing end of the spectrum. Each time he tours, he gains a larger fan base for his music.

Phoenix Art Workshop is proud to present the 3rd Annual Steveston Grand Prix of Art. The Grand Prix celebrates artists, painting in stunning locations in Steveston.
The concept of the Grand Prix of Art is to promote local arts in a fun and interactive manner.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is the Thanksgiving for Chinese people and the Richmond Chinese Community Society (RCCS) is privileged to share this annual event with the community. In accordance with the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is of kinship and charitable love, this year's celebration will include multicultural performances such as the Lion Dance, Chinese Opera, Folk Dance, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Chinese Calligraphy and game booths.
