Richmond street banner contest returns.

Community members of Richmond are invited to vote for their favourite street banner designs.

This year's top 20 banner design finalists can now be viewed and voted online at LetsTalkRichmond.ca.

The city's contest received over 500 designs this year with artists focusing on themes such as wellness, community, connection, wildlife, neighbourhood, urban landscape, nature, waterfront, the arts and sustainability.

A judging panel made up of community volunteers narrowed down the submissions to 20 finalists among the 10 categories.

The 10 designs, one from each theme, with the most votes from the public will be named the winner of the 2022 Street Banner Contest.

More than 1,000 banners for each winning designed will be produced and installed on the banner poles entering into Richmond and round the city's downtown core from March 2023 to February 2024.

Designs for the banners can also be viewed on the city website with votes emailed to [email protected].

All votes must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16.
