Artists have one more week to submit proposals for the upcoming Black History Month exhibition.

Richmond artists can now submit proposals for the annual Black History Month exhibition at Richmond Cultural Centre.

The annual exhibition is held in the Upper Rotunda Gallery as a part of Black History Month, and aims to recognize and honour the "legacy, culture and contributions of Black Canadians and their communities."

Any artists who identify as Black, are of African descent or are part of the African diaspora are eligible to apply, and priority will be given to artists living or working in Richmond.

Submissions can include painting, drawing, photography, textile arts, mixed media and other forms of art. Artists are not required to produce new works for the exhibition.

Artists selected to participate will receive a fee of $440 based on 2023 CARFAC BC rates. The 2023 exhibition will run from Jan. 30 to Feb. 27, 2023.

To find out more and to submit a proposal, check out the city's artist call. The submission deadline is next Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m.
