'Tis the season to explore and support local artists while doing some last-minute holiday shopping, and a brand new Richmond craft market is hoping to stand out.
Richmond secondary's art department will be holding its inaugural holiday market this weekend, which will feature vendors including students, an Indigenous artists and a beloved retired art teacher.
Offerings at the craft market include prints and cards, resin crafts, clothes, ceramics, ornaments and stickers. Attendees will also get to enjoy a puppetry performance by a pancake artist and reunite with retired art teacher Kim Swanson.
And a 12-foot-tall metal dragon will also be there. The magnificent sculpture, created by world-renowned metal sculptor, Ron Simmer, will be on display for all to admire.
The Richmond Secondary Holiday Market will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. More details are available on the event's Facebook page.
And for those who are interested in checking out the market but can't make it on Saturday, a spring market is currently in the works for 2023.
