Music at the Cannery – Irish Wakers

Maritime music comes to the Cannery on Aug. 11 with the Irish Wakers! Comprised of Blake Williams (Irish bodhran award winner), Brian Robertson (guitar), Hugh Brock (flute, whistles, pipes), Michael Burnyeat (provincial fiddle champion) and special guest Sarah Ann Chihsolm, Irish Wakers celebrate the songs and dance music of Ireland, with nods to the Canadian Maritime and to seafarers everywhere. Tickets are $7 each and available at the door. Concerts are held outdoors on the Cannery’s Tank Deck (or indoors if inclement weather.)

7th Annual West Coast Tagore Festival

The West Coast Tagore Festival is a celebration of life and work of Nobel-laureate poet and world cultural icon, Rabindranath Tagore. Reputed scholars, multicultural poets and talented performing artists will present works of Tagore, through music, dance, poetry, lectures, exhibits, etc. Admission by donation/pay-it-forward.
