Join them for the live launch of the Richmond Rental Connect website and a celebration of everything we learned, and of everyone who attended one of our workshops. The event will feature networking and free food.

Richmond Youth Service Agency and Pathways Aboriginal Centre present The National Aboriginal Day this Saturday, June 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Minoru Cultural Centre, 7700 Minoru Gate.

A diagnosis of dementia affects an entire family. Already, one in 11 Canadians over the age of 65 have Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia, and the incidence rate is growing. The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is offering a free workshop, Understanding and Living with Dementia, on Monday, June 25, from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p.m. at Room 340 of Richmond Caring Place, 7000 Minoru Blvd. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required. The Community Arts Council of Richmond invites everyone to its latest event - A MIDSUMMER ART'S DREAM, a free art show featuring work and photography from artists from Metro Vancouver.

It will be held at Lansdowne Centre from July 2-8, in centre court, which is next to the food court. The exhibition will be open for viewing during regular Centre hours. People are invited to vote for their favourite work of art and they could win one of several gift cards for Lansdowne Merchants.

The next Single's Mingle in Steveston is Saturday, July 7 from 7: 30 p.m. at the Charthouse Restaurant, #200-3866 Bayview St.

Richmond residents face a serious health reality: the incidence rate of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias is growing rapidly.

That means more families have to cope with the issues of caregiving - and with the prospect of their family member requiring residential care. The non-profit Alzheimer Society of B.C. is helping families to prepare for those possibilities, with a free workshop, Preparation for Transition to Residential Care, on Saturday, July 7 from noon to 4: 30 p.m. in Room 340 of Richmond Caring Place, 7000 Minoru Blvd. Pre-registration is required.
