It was a trip back to the 1970s for hundreds of fans of the Australian hit-duo Air Supply, which took to the stage at the River Rock Casino’s Show Theatre Saturday evening.
The singers, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, both in their 60s, performed a number of their classics, including All Out of Love and The One that You Love.
The audience ranged from children to seniors in their 80s, many of whom danced and sang along with the soft-rock duo that formed 43 years ago.
“We don’t take anything for granted. It’s you that have kept us going,” said the singers, who came off the stage to shake hands with their fans during the concert.
The pair also invited the audience to come closer to the stage and encouraged fans to sing with them throughout the show.
Stan Carter, 87, a fan for “many, many years,” said the music brought him back to the “good old days.
“The whole thing was phenomenal. I very, very much enjoyed it. They reminded me of the beautiful days; a lot of wonderful memories,” said Carter.
Jamie Meloche, from Prince George, said the songs brought him back to his teen years when the band was on the radio all the time.
“I collected their albums over the years. They went from records to CDs and now it’s digital. They’ve still got it, after all these years; they still tear the roof off.”
