1. Richmond Olympic Park Run:
Saturday, March 25: 8:45 a.m. at the Middle Arm Trail (water drop statue).
Parkruns are free, weekly 5 km timed runs are open to everyone. People of every ability can take part; from those taking their first steps in running, to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience. All are welcome.
Meet near the “waterdrop” statue near the intersection of Cambie Street and River Road. If you want to receive a time for your run, you must register and print off your barcode online at ParkRun.ca/RichmondOlympic.
2. Cannery Farmers’ Market:
Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Fourth Avenue, Steveston: Sunday, March 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free Cannery Farmers’ Market runs from November to April, inside the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site. This indoor community market, operated by the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society, features local food and artisan merchants, in a unique historic cannery setting. Guided heritage tours available on market days by donation.
3. Cosmic Skating:
Minoru Arenas: All weekend (ice times vary).
Skate away during spring break in the dark, under super cool lighting. For extra fun, wear something fluorescent so you’ll glow!
Sessions go from 12 – 3 p.m., and 5 – 8 p.m. Price: Regular admission rates apply.
