In the States, Uber is a huge thing. I don’t see why we shouldn’t have it here. I know there are ride-sharing services attached to other services like Wechat. It will be way better than traditional cab services, because we already have stories of people being denied services depending on where they travel to.

I think Uber-like services are very good. There are services like it in China. Many drivers can speak Chinese, which I find convenient, and their rates are usually lower than the local taxi. I support the government to legalize it under the premise that there are rules in place to try to ensure passenger safety.

I know a lot of friends who use it in other cities. It will be really great to have it in Richmond and I will probably use it over top of a regular taxi cab. I think they would come faster than the taxi, and they will probably be more reasonably priced than a taxi. I hope the government approves it.

I’ve never used the service because Uber is not available here. They should allow it as long as there are some regulations involved, because, for example, on New Year’s Eve, if you went there (downtown), there wasn’t enough public transportation or taxis to take care of all the people.

Uber is not legal in Vancouver? Really? I did not know that. I use Uber a lot in other places. Primarily I prefer this than a cab. I hope the government at least look into it. It will be nice if they can get some citizens employed, maybe see how people feel, and how it will be helpful or benefit the city.
