Your voice: What do you think of the city’s new smoking and vaping regulations?

Clockwise, from top left: Keri Fisher: "Generally I think it’s a good thing. Personally, I’m not a smoker so there’s nothing worse than walking out into a big haze of smoke. My personal least favourite is tobacco smoke; it makes me nauseous.

Georgina Magnus:

"I agree the new regulations should include e-cigarette vapour and marijuana, especially because if marijuana is on its way to being legalized, it should be included in all smoking regulations. I don’t necessarily agree it needs to be nine metres; it should be more specific to what type of doorway."

Oskar Kwieton:

"I think it’s great and a step in the right direction, keeping up with the times as the law changes. [I’m more concerned] probably with the cannabis, but even cigarette smoke isn’t great at entrances because [people] can pick up the smoke."

Larry Li:

"Six metres no-smoking buffer or nine doesn’t make a difference to me because I only smoke when there is no one else around. I think it’s a basic manner. And it’s ok for the city to include marijuana in the regulation. I smoke it at home or downstairs when nobody is there."

Natasha Magnus:

"I think as long as it’s not indoors I think it’s OK; nine metres, six metres, it doesn’t matter to me. I’m not a smoker but I don’t mind smoke necessarily, because if it’s outside it tends to go away. But if it’s indoors, you can’t get rid of it."
