1. Richmond Canada 150 celebration at Richmond Night Market, July 29:
Starting at 7:30 p.m. there will be a special musical performance celebrating Canadian culture at the night market. Produced by music professional Susan Skemp and featuring a cast of singers and dancers this event is organized by the Richmond Arts Coalition.
2. Richmond Summer Art and Cultural Festival, Jul. 29:
Richmond Chinese Community Society (RCCS) is inviting everyone to attend the Richmond Summer Art and Culture Festval this Saturday at Lansdowne Centre to celebrate the city’s diversity.
People will see a Lion Dance, Korean traditional drum play, Japanese Taiko, Indian dance, and Chinese magical face-mask performances given by artists from China.
Paintings from artists around the world and community exhibit booths will also be on display. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
3. 1-Day Chan Meditation Retreat. Jul. 30:

Dharma Drum Vancouver Center located at 8240 No.5 Road is hosting an eight-hour meditation retreat activity. Attendees will have the opportunity to practice meditation following the guidance of a very experienced Chan Meditation teacher.
Starting at nine o’clock in the morning, the event will include Eight-form Moving Meditation, Sitting Meditation, Chan Yoga, Dharma Talk and Sitting and Walking Meditation. Application form can be downloaded from the centre’s website.
