Get up early and get moving at the weekly Richmond Olympic Parkrun held Saturdays at the Middle Arm Trail and Waterfront Greenway (7920 Cambie Road). Start time is 8:45 a.m. Parkruns are free, weekly, 5 km timed runs, which take place all around the world, including Richmond. People of every age and ability are encouraged to take part  from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians. Each event relies 100 per cent on volunteers, so even if running isn’t your thing, feel free to get in touch if you’d like to encourage from the sidelines and help us to run the show. View some intricate and beautiful plants up close during the Orchid Show at the Richmond Nature Park (11851 Westminster Highway) and learn how to care for these unique flowers. Hosted by the Richmond Orchid Club the show runs from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission by donation.

 

3. Richmond Orchestra concert: Saturday, May 20:

The Richmond Orchestra Chamber group is holding a benefit concert at South Arm United Church (11051 #3 road) for The Heart of Richmond AIDS Society on May 20 at 7:30 p.m.  Admission by donation.
