BONUS: Easter orchestras!: April 8-9

Trinity Pacific Church and Brighouse United Church are both hosting a free orchestra performance this weekend, to mark the start of Holy Week.

“Whereas Easter has a place in our calendars, Palm Sunday often goes unnoticed,” said Frank Klassen, the conductor of the two shows.

This interactive event, featuring choir, soloists, and orchestra will include singing, prayer, and Scripture on the theme which is still recited at every Mass after the Sanctus. The music is a selection of both classical and contemporary, leading to a climax with the Sanctus and Benedictus from Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass. Everyone is welcome.

On Saturday, at Trinity Pacific Church (10011 No. 5 Road) at 7 p.m. the doors will open to the public for the free music concert. Then, on Palm Sunday, at Brighouse United Church (8151 Bennett Road) at 7 p.m., there will be another performance.
