Christmas Day is nearly here, but before you open presents and carve the roast beast, here are a few ideas for things to do this weekend.

1. Olympic Parkrun: Saturday, Dec. 24: Get out and stretch your legs before that turkey dinner during the Richmond Olympic Parkrun on Dec. 24 at 8:45 a.m. at the Middle Arm Trail and Waterfront Greenway (7920 Cambie Road near the waterdrop statue at the intersection of Cambie and River roads). 2. Movie matinee: Saturday, Dec. 24: Minoru Place Activity Centre (Seniors Centre at 7660 Minoru Gate) is presenting a special Christmas movie matinee screening on Dec. 24 of the 1954 classic White Christmas, starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Show time is 12 p.m. 

3. Steveston Santa Claus Parade: Saturday, Dec. 24: Santa Claus is coming back to town on Dec. 24 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. for the annual Steveston Santa Claus Parade.
