Winter Wonderland public skate: Until Jan. 2:

The lights are being strung, trees are being decorated and skates are being sharpened all in preparation for this year’s annual Winter Wonderland at Minoru Arenas (7551 Minoru Gate). Until Jan. 2, the Silver Rink will, once again, be transformed into a beautiful holiday display for the public to enjoy.

Something to Treasure - A Good Noise Christmas: Dec. 11:

A local singing talent will be on display Sunday when the Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir performs at the Fraserview MB Church (11295 Mellis Drive) at 3 p.m. on  Dec. 11. Richmond Christian School grad and soprano Megan Burton is a recent addition to the 90-voice group which will present their concert titled Something To Treasure – A Good Noise Christmas.
“My parents are both musical, so I started singing from very young,” said Burton, 20, who is majoring in sociology at UBC and wanted to bring balance back into her schedule by auditioning for the choir in September. “Music calms me and brings me a lot of joy and I like the idea of being a part of the group.”
The annual show usually sells out quickly, but tickets can be purchased online from BrownPaperTickets.com or by calling 1-800-838-3006. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for students ans seniors and $10 for children 12 and under.

 
A Ceremony of Carols: Dec. 10 and 11:

A Ceremony of Carols is an ideal way to start your Christmas Season. On Dec. 10 and 11, the Richmond Chorus will be performing at Gilmore Park United Church (8060 No 1 Road). Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols starts the  concert. The second half will offer an eclectic mix of well-loved Christmas music, readings, as well as the ever-popular sing-alongs.
Performance times: Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. Online tickets available at Roca.ca: Adult: $18, Senior/Student: $15, Children (under 13): $6. Door prices: Adult: $20, Senior/Student: $18, Children (under 13): $10.
