A group of journalism students from Shanghai, China, paid a visit to the Richmond News on Friday to learn how a community newspaper is produced in Canada.

Reporter Alan Campbell is pictured showing the students some recent publications of the News.

The students, aged from 11 to 16, are part of a pilot project group being toured around the Lower Mainland this summer by Richmond-based Pacific Rim ESL School.

As well as visiting the Richmond News during their stay, the students visited the Legislature in Victoria, Vancouver City Hall and spent time with CBC and Omni TV. On their return to China, they are expected to write about their experience in the Shanghai Students Post.
