It’s time to get ready to move as Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives prepares for its second annual Community in Motion event.

On July 7, participants can walk, run or bike along one of three routes of various lengths in Garry Point Park and along West Dyke Trail, all while getting involved in the Richmond community. Several organizations will be attending with information on their services and ways to volunteer.

Last year’s event raised nearly $30,000 for local charities. While the event is free to attend, a $1 donation is encouraged. Donations will be divided among participating organizations.

Event registration and warm up activities begin at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m., participants can join in one, five or 10 km routes and complete them at their own pace. Non-profits will host their information booths between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
