Richmondites invited to celebrate opening of Aberdeen Neighbourhood Park

Phase 2 of the park includes an all-ages playground, a Chinese garden, a public washroom, and a pavillion.

Aberdeen Neighbourhood Park will finally be fully open, and Richmondites are invited to celebrate its completion with a night of festivities.

Mayor Malcolm Brodie and city council will open the park, followed by a free, family-friendly celebration on July 27.

Community members can enjoy an evening of fun activities such as music, face painting, chalk art, and food trucks.

The park, which is at Cambie Road near Aberdeen Centre, features picnic tables, a dog park and a plaza.

With the opening of phase 2, the park now has four additional elements: an all-ages playground, Chinese garden, public washroom, and pavilion.

The park opening celebration on July 27 will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
