Dogs like this guy need to be on a leash, especially in popular walking places like the West Dyke trail. In the summer of 2014 the city will be stepping up enforcement of its animal control bylaws.

If you love animals and pasta, the Richmond SPCA’s annual pub event will be a perfect night out.

On April 27, the SPCA will be serving up a pasta buffet, drinks and dessert at the Buck and Ear Bar and Grill, with all proceeds going to support the Richmond Education and Adoption Centre. Funds raised will go towards the cost of spaying and neutering, medical care and providing a loving environment for homeless animals.

The event also includes games, a silent auction and toonie tosses.

For more information or to purchase tickets for the “pasta pawty,” visit the Richmond SPCA’s website.
